The Host’s Perspective:
While content marketing may seem new to a lot of organizations who are first adopting it, it’s also changing constantly. What worked really well three years ago already has several new layers of complexity required for any chance at effectiveness.
Powering Content is very timely and what you need to read right now in order to stay competitive and have a chance at helping your organization to become more successful. The book is not another primer on content marketing and why it’s so powerful – the majority of the book is a deep dive into 10 essential steps for content success.
To me, two of several interesting aspects of the book were her discussion of Henry Ford and numbers. By studying Henry Ford’s approach to manufacturing it helped her understand the importance of reproducing stellar work through a continual process. Doing so helped her to discover that content is both an art and a science.
And as it relates to numbers, she describes her own progression as a content marketer, and that one of her most exhilarating moments came when she integrated quantitative analysis to her content management routine.
In content marketing, the numbers are are your friend if you want to build a well-oiled nonstop content marketing machine. I work in the content marketing world, have read numerous books about content marketing and found this book to be very helpful and well written.
