The Road to Recognition: The A-to-Z Guide to Personal Branding for Accelerating Your Professional Success in The Age of Digital Media by Barry Feldman and Seth Price

Barry Feldman is a digital marketing super freak, keynoter, prolific writer, and is the author of another book, SEO Simplified for Short Attention Spans.

A veteran of the advertising agency business, Barry later founded Feldman Creative, and over the past 25+ years has written marketing copy and provided digital marketing strategy for thousands of companies, entrepreneurs and agencies.

He has been recognized by Linkedln and many other entities as a top content marketing and social media influencer and leader. If his name rings a bell, it might be because he is a popular guest blogger published by more than 30 marketing publications.

He is also the co-host, along with Andy Crestodina, of a podcast that I listen to, the Content Matters podcast.

The Host’s Perspective:

In the book’s foreword by marketing leader, author and keynoter Jay Baer, he talks about the vegetable kale. People who like kale swear by its “near-magical powers that will improve your life in ways unknown and not yet understood.” He then explains that “personal branding is post-modern kale that is grown, harvested, and eaten in public – often online.”

So if you’re a believer in the power of personal branding, this book will be a terrific affirmation, but more importantly I guarantee it will teach you a number of fine points and new techniques that you didn’t know. But more importantly, if you’re on the fence about this personal branding stuff, you really owe it to yourself to read The Road to Recognition.

The book is written by two guys whose lives and careers have been transformed by the power of personal branding. One could argue that at one time they might have even been personal branding sceptics.

The book is not some unicorns and rainbows fairy tale – it’s straightforward, very carefully written, contains contributions from several recognized marketing experts, and is organized into 26 short chapters, one for each letter of the alphabet.

So whether you’re a personal branding newbie or a pro, this book will show you why personal branding is as powerful as kale and how it can improve the trajectory of your career.
